Keith Urban would have been happy to be a part of the re-make of "We Are The World" to benefit the Haiti relief effort, but he wasn't invited. To make matters worse, Keith was in the very same recording studio working on his own stuff when the the 80-plus group of artists were recording the anthem the morning after the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. The singer told showbizspy.com, "I was outside and I could hear all these amazing stars doing their bit for the song. I was recording in another room so I didn't feel I could just drop everything and insist I sing a few lines. But it's a great thing those artists have done for a very worthy cause."
Sugarland, the Zac Brown Band and Julianne Hough were all part of the "We Are The World" recording.
In other Keith news, E! reports that the singer was spotted doing some Valentine's Day shopping at a store called Trashy Lingerie in West Hollywood on Wednesday (February 10th) afternoon. He reportedly purchased three ensembles for his wife, Nicole Kidman, including a "naughty schoolgirl outfit."
Keith is on the cover of the People Country issue of People magazine, which is currently on newsstands.
He has been in Los Angeles all week writing for his next album.
