Bus Terminal

BC Transit is getting a longterm lease from the city for a bus terminal on the three-acre water reclamation plant site. Vernon Mayor Wayne Lippert says the area needs a modern centre for servicing and giving the drivers a break.

City council has okayed a long-term lease for three acres of land at 25th Avenue and 43rd Street. The terminal will be used for servicing buses and giving employees a place to take a break. Council Patrick Nicol says they often don't get a chance to use the washroom. 

The city will get a 1.3-million dollar prepayment for the initial 40-year lease.
