Forests and Range Minister Pat Bell has paid tribute to the retiring head of Tolko Industries in Vernon. Al Thorlakson is stepping aside as president and CEO of the family-run forest products company.
His son, Brad, is taking over the position.
Bell called Tolko a ``made-in-BC success story'' which Thorlakson had expanded into the fifth largest lumber producer in the world.
Thorlakson, 70, will take on an advisory role as executive chairman.
