28 years ago three Vernon woman saw a need, approached the radio station and Teens Count Too was born. The name really says it all. At the time charities were focused on children and often teens needs weren't met at the holidays. Now this amazing charity not only makes sure, with the help of the Salvation Army, that no one goes without a gift at Christmas, plus help at Grad and scholarships.
I'm sure this will be our most generous donation ever. Yesterday Vivacious Vicki and I went to receive a cheque from the downtown Scotiabank and it kind of brought a tear to our eyes! Thank you Scotiabank and all your customers for the silent auction donation of $3,400 then Scotiabank donated $2,500 for a total of $5,900. Wow!

I can't imagine deciding between paying my rent and feeding my children. It is sad that hundreds of families in our community sometimes are faced with that dilemma. Boxed rice, cereals, pastas
School Time Snacks
Canned Salmon & Tuna

Thanks to all the community volunteers and business who made the weekend for so many families, in Armstrong, Vernon and Coldstream with their light ups.
I'm starting to get in the spirit of the season, in part thanks to my great neighbours the Lawsons. Gary spent hours working on a Christmas light display that is set to music. They invited families and friends over Saturday night for the official light up. Four songs with the lights synchronized, it's pretty cool. If you get a chance you should drive by, it's 7004 Longacre Drive, ...
